Van Deman has spent her career in behavioral health and has a background in finance, technology, and cognitive psychology. Before Joining AspenRidge, Shannon served as vice president of Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Pediatric Mental Health Institute for five years.

She co-chaired Gov. Polis’ Behavioral Health Taskforce and was instrumental in drafting and passing two bills to create Colorado’s new Behavioral Health Administration. Van Deman is an accomplished public speaker and holds a doctorate in cognitive psychology from Notre Dame and a Master’s of Business Administration from Ball State.
Clinical Director
San Filippo serves as AspenRidge Recovery’s clinical director. He has worked in direct service with clients for the past 12 years. His contact with clients and therapists provides him with unique insight into addiction trends as they happen.

San Filippo is dually licensed to treat mental health and addiction and is trained in brainspotting, an integrated trauma therapy. He hosts training classes on crisis de-escalation, trauma-informed care, suicide intervention, and professional boundaries. San Filippo earned a Master of Arts in counseling from the University of Colorado Denver.
Manager of Recovery Support Services
Hoover has worked for AspenRidge Recovery since 2018 and currently serves as our Manager of Recovery Support Services. She uses her four years of direct client care experience to oversee our case management and alumni programs.

Mary is a certified Colorado Peer and Family Specialist through CCAR, a nationally certified Narcan instructor, and is an active participant with the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention. Hoover has personal experience as a woman in long-term recovery from opioid addiction, which drives her passion for advocacy, education, and the accessibility of substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Family Program Director
Kathleen Morgan is the program director of our family program. Kathleen works directly with people in our programs and their loved ones. She helps clients and families work through issues of trust, establish healthy boundaries, and learn about addiction and recovery.
